Contractions

We are learning to find contractions in our stories. We know that contraction are two words that are squashed together. I can find contractions easily because they have an apostrophe in them.
I am good at contractions because I know that do not is don’t and can not is can’t. My next thing I am learning in reading is setting, beginning, middle, end and the characters of my story.

Fractions

We are learning about fractions. We know that one quater is when we cut something into four pieces. We also learnt about halves which means we cut something two pieces. Fractions are ½ ¼ and ⅓. With fraction you start with one whole and you cut it into pieces.

I am good at fractions because I can cut a whole into halves and quaters. It is a bit tricky to know which fractions are bigger. My next step in maths is to learn to add two numbers together by counting on from the biggest number.

Compound sentences

I am learning to write compound sentences. I am good at it because I know that I need to use and, but or because to put two sentences together in a one longer sentence. I am going to work on making my stories more interesting.
